What is your take on the thousands of children that were left orphans because Saddam had their parents killed? What about the mothers in Afghanistan that were killed in the name of religion for things such as walking without a male family member (sometimes because they were all killed) or daring to talk to a non-approved male? Is this good behavior too?
I just love these types of people, they act like Americans want to kill innocent bystanders. If the US Army wanted that they could have just blown half of Baghdad away in the first couple of nights and it would have been done with. Our sensitivity towards attempting (obviously it won't always work) to protect civilian lives has undoubtedly cost US lives in the process. If we were the insensitive brutes that Grantt wants to believe then we would certainly have done things differently and probably lost far fewer soldiers at the high cost of tens of thousands of innocent civilians of all ages.

What's disturbing is that innocent die in the process of our government telling others how to govern.
I personally find it offensive when some here take the attitude that all Iraqi children will grow up to be terrorists and just brush off their deaths. I know I would be offended by people saying all American children will grow up to be redneck klansmen or some such generalization.

Its impossible to say what kind of life the young boy who was killed with Saddam's sons may have led. Naturally I am appalled when a child is killed. That incident aside, I think we need to look at the much much broader picture of the fate of children world wide. The mistreatment of children is quite possibly the most vile crime facing mankind today. Without getting to lenghty, just check out some of the web-sites that shed light on this problem, it is unbelieveable what is going on in todays supposedly advanced civilization. i couldn't agree more with what kman said - even if i had written it myself. saddam and his sons were a bunch or murdering, lying, ruthless crooks who never gave a 2nd thought to ruining someone's life - or killing them - or....

Although I may be new to these forums, it's obvious that Grantt hates Americans and for some reason believes he is going to convince the rest of us to agree with his twisted way of thinking. I am an american that happens to live outside the U.S. Believe me, I've experienced people like you before. Well the difference is that as evil as Saddam and his sons are it's their country not ours, and it was up to the Iraqis to free themselves. We got involved due to alterior motives and try to smoke screen that with talk of Iraqi freedom and ousting a terrible regime.

I don't know that it's poison per say. Grantt exagerates but on the other hand just as we have a lot to be proud of we've done a lot to be embarrassed about. Perhaps some anti-American sentiment is healthy to remind us we're not perfect.
